Strong and weak CP violation at LEAR
Description
This chapter discusses the possibility of studying the weak CP violation through the neutral-kaon system of the Low Energy Antiproton Ring (LEAR). The annihilation of antiprotons at rest produces a large flux of K0 and -K0 mesons of equal magnitude. Topics covered include the source of CP violation, CP violation at LEAR, and violation at LEAR. The intense flux of pseudoscalar mesons at LEAR allows an experimental study of the strong CP problem through precise tests of the chiral predictions of the standard model by the mixing of pseudoscalars with ghosts and axions. The observed violation of CP invariance must be associated with a corresponding departure from T invariance according to the hypothesis of TCP invariance
