Now (or when?) for decommissioning
Creators
Description
The paper reports on a seminar on the decommissioning of nuclear facilities, organised by the IBC Technical Services, in London 1988. The main issue at the seminar was the question of decommissioning of a nuclear power station after its final shut down. Papers were presented from both inside and outside the nuclear industry. Almost every aspect of decommissioning was discussed, including the UKAEA's WAGR Stage 3 decommissioning project, the problems of radioactive waste disposal, and the financial side of decommissioning.
