On a distribution of the E1 transition strengths in light nuclei

Description

The probability distributions for E1 transitions in light (A=10-40) nuclei have been studied. The analysis has been carried out for the excitation energy range of Q<Esub(e)<Q+3 MeV, where Q is the proton binding energy in a nucleus. The values for the recommended upper limits (RUL) for the probabilities of the isoscalar and isovector E1 transitions from resonance levels of light nuclei have been found. The RUL for the isoscalar transitions is equal to 0.02 Weisskopf unit, for the isovector ones, 0.3. A comparison between the RUL of E1 transitions from resonance levels and those of E1 transitions between bound states indicates that the probabilities of E1 transitions for resonance states increase
