The paper reviews the general properties of high energy multiparticle production, concerning cross sections, multiplicity distributions, pseudorapidity distributions, transverse momentum distributions, correlations, particle composition and diffractive dissociation, in the light of recent experimental data, which have been obtained at the CERN Proton-Antiproton Collider (SPS)
