Investigation into nature of chemical interaction in the Cd - As - I system

Description
The methods of differential thermal and X ray phase analyses and long wave IR spectroscopy have been used to study the interaction by sections of CdI2-AsI3, CdI2-As, CdI2-CdAs2, CdI2-Cd3As2 of the Cd-As-I ternary system and in the Cd-I binary system. The surface of the system liquidus is plotted. The formation of ternary compounds Cd2As3I, Cd4As2I3, Cd5As3I and Cd3AsI3 has been found. The monocrystals of Cd2As3I, Cd4As2I3 compounds are obtained and their properties are studied. The vitrification region in the ternary system near by CdAs2 is determined
