Assessment of uniformity and signal-to-noise ratio in radiological image intensifier TV systems

  • 1. St. James's Hospital, Dublin (Ireland)
  • 2. Federated Dublin Voluntary Hospitals (Ireland)

Description

A method of measuring the uniformity of radiological Image Intensifier-TV systems is described. Large non-uniformities were observed in the systems tested. A method of estimating the Signal-to-Noise Ratio in such systems is also presented and applied to characterise the effectiveness of the noise reduction techniques used in digital fluoroscopy.
