Future directions in quasi-elastics neutron scattering

Creators

Description

Several experiments are described which highlight the most important parameters that have to be kept under control to ensure a successful outcome. Subsequently, some instruments are presented which still have to be developed but of which the concepts have already been proved. Finally it is stressed that quasi-elastic neutron scattering (QENS) is certainly the most versatile spectroscopic technique, but that it is highly dependent upon the availability of high-intensity neutron sources and sophisticated instrumentation.
