Description

Procedures of enzymatic synthesis of 14C- or 3H-labelled 5'-phosphates of adenosine, 2'-deoxyadenosine, guanosine, 2'-deoxyguanosine, cytidine, 2'-deoxycytidine, uridine, 2'-deoxyuridine, thymidine and orotidine, developed by the Institute of Research, Production, and Application of Radioisotopes are surveyed. The techniques are based on catalytical properties of enzyme preparations isolated from bacteria Escherichia coli B, Escherichia coli SPT-, Brevibacterium ammoniagenes CCEB 364, and from Saccharomyces cerevisiae fungi. The applicability is assessed of the enzyme systems with respect to the type of the starting radioactive substrate and to the desired specificity of labelling with 14C or 3H of the nucleoside-5'-phosphate. Examples of the enzymatic synthesis of some types of labelled nucleoside-5'-phosphates are presented. (author). 9 refs., 2 tabs., 41 refs
