Description

R.S. Landauer, Jr. and Co. offer a personal neutron dosimetry service based on chemical etching of CR-39 plastic. Twenty-five of these dosemeters were obtained and exposed to monoenergetic neutrons at various energies between 150 keV and 4 MeV in order to measure the neutron energy response. Dosemeters were also exposed to 252Cf and Am-Be neutron sources. Results of these irradiations are presented. The dosemeters showed a dose-equivalent threshold of 100-200 μSv (10 to 20 mrem) but were unable to detect 150 keV neutrons, and had an overall response comparable to Kodak NTA emulsion. (author)
