Proton capture on 14C and its astrophysical implications

Description

The reaction14C(p, γ)15N has been measured in the proton energy range of Ep=250-740 keV. Five resonances have been observed and their strengths were determined. Additionally, 5 nonresonany γ-rays were found to the states at Ex=0.0, 5.27, 5.30, 6.32 and 9.05 MeV. The energy dependence of their cross sections can be described by the direct capture process and the low-energy tails of the broad resonances at ER=1319 and 1509 keV. (orig.)
