Description
Preparation of petroleum product samples used in Syria and vanadium determination have been studied. The present work came up with a new method for determining vanadium in the prepared sample by kinetic catalytic method, which selectively separates vanadium (V) using N-benzoyl-N-phenylhydroxylamine (BPHA) in chloroform, then it has been developed by adding 2-butanollic pyrogallol solution to the organic phase. This development makes the method highly sensitive and decreases the sample treatment steps. (author)
