IBA description of collective states in neodymium isotopes

  • 1. ENEA, via G. Mazzini 2, Bologna (Italy)

Description

The nuclear structure properties of neodymium isotopes in the range A=136-154 are analyzed in the frame of the Interacting Boson Approximation (IBA) model. Collective levels up to E<=2.5 MeV are reproduced with satisfactory accuracy, suggestions are made in a few cases of uncertain spin-parity attribution and the existence of undetected levels is predicted. E2 and E3 transitions are analyzed. All the symmetry limits of the Interacting Boson Model, corresponding to γ-unstable rotors; vibrators; or axially symmetric rotors, together with intermediate shape transitions, are observed in the Nd isotope chain.
