KEK optically pumped polarized H- ion source

  • 1. National Laboratory for High Energy Physics Oho-machi, Tsukuba-gun, Ibaraki-ken

Description

Optically pumped polarized H- ion source has been developed at KEK. Various improvements have been made for stable long term operation. Among them, efforts were concentrated to develop a control system for pumping dye lasers with a personal computer and an ECR ion source. We also examine polarizing effect of dissociated hydrogen atoms from H2+ ions and show that it could be possible to use H2+ ions instead of H+ ions in this type of polarized ion source
