Absolute radioactivity measurement of 134Cs by liquid scintillation counting systems

Creators

  • 1. Institute of Atomic Energy, Beijing (China)

Description

A new liquid scintillation counting system has been devised which is used for absolute radioactivity measurements. It allows measurements of beta-gamma decay nuclides as well as pure beta decay alone by the use of a suitable efficiency tracer. This measuring system applies the double dead-time coincidence method which is based on the possibility of sending detector output pulses to two parallel counting channels equipped with extended type dead-time circuits
