Description
The correlation function of rich clusters of galaxies, ξ/sub c/(r), is observed to be in excess of the galaxy correlation function, ξ/sub g/(r); ξ/sub c/ = 1 at r/sub c/ ≅ 25h/sup -1/Mpc for Abell (R ≥ 1) clusters, and at r/sub c/ ≅ 18h/sup -1/Mpc for less rich clusters as measured by Shectman, while ξ/sub g/ = 1 at r/sub g/ ≅ 5h/sup -1/Mpc. In order to find out whether this effect is reproduced in standard clustering scenarios, others have applied cluster finding algorithms to cosmological N-body simulations, comparing ξ/sub c/ for clusters of a certain richness to ν/sub g/ as given by the individual bodies when the slope of ξ/sub g/ is γ ≅ 1.8
