Heavy ion ranges in kapton using nuclear track technique

Description
Ranges and energy loss of 11.56 MeV/A 58Ni and 13.5 MeV/A 197Au in complex material kapton polyimide were determined using CR-39 as nuclear track detector. The range-energy calibrations for these heavy ions in CR-39 were experimentally obtained. The experimental results have been compared with corresponding theoretical values obtained from different prescriptions. (author). 7 refs., 1 fig., 1 tab
