To understand the role of the couplings of the elastic channel to quasi-elastic (i.e., inelastic and transfer) channels in such energy dependence of the potential in 12C+209Bi system, the various transfer and inelastic differential cross sections have been measured for the projectile energies 62, 64 and 87.5 MeV
