Spin degrees of freedom in specular neutron reflectometry

Description

The role of polarized neutrons in specular reflectometry to solve the longstanding phase problem is reviewed. A survey of recently proposed reference layer methods based on polarization measurements is given and the essentials of the reconstruction procedure are summarized. Future developments as well as a dedicated reflectometer set-up for phase determination are discussed
