The assessment of the safety culture in the nuclear facilities
Description
In the paper the main methods of learning, assessment and implementation of the safety culture at levels of competence for the operation of nuclear facilities will be presented, and an overview of the most important methods for assessing the safety culture (Safety Culture Assessment Review Team, International Nuclear Safety Advisory Group and Institute of Nuclear Power Operations) will be made. To determine the most effective method in assessing the safety culture, the methods were studied and analysed, by using a model which considers for each method elements such as objectivity, reliability and validity. The establishment of methods aimed to achieve a better assessment of the safety culture in nuclear facilities will be highlighted. A sustained involvement in the continuous evolution in the improvement of the safety performances and the training of employees of organization may represent a basic element in the achievement of a high level of safety.
