First and second sound velocities along the melting curve of 4He

Description
First and second sound velocities along the melting curve are measured in the temperature range of Tλ - to 1.0 K. The second sound velocity is shown to be well described by a thermodynamic expression including the thermal expansion of He II. The first sound velocity along the melting curve is found to be temperature independent
