Description
Delayed hydride cracking (DHC) leading to clad failure in PWR and BWR fuels have been reported in many reactors earlier. However, occurrence of DHC, leading to clad or fuel assembly component failure in PHWRs have been scarcely reported. For detailed understanding of the phenomena, IAEA has initiated an international coordinated research project on delayed hydride cracking of Zirconium alloy fuel cladding
