The growth characteristics of Nb3Sn in tin-rich diffusion process and the distribution of Mg in the alloy
Description
Mg was added to Cu-Sn matrix of practical Nb3Sn superconducting wires with high Sn concentration. Distribution of the alloying element as well as its influence on the growth of Nb3Sn in solid-solid and solid-liquid diffusion process were studied. The relations between homogeneity of Nb3Sn and Sn concentration in matrix as well as heat treatment temperature have been systematically studied
