Ground state and spin-lattice relaxation of Tb3+ ion in lanthanum ethylsulfate under uniform compression

Description
The effect of uniform pressure on the EPR spectra and the processes of spin-lattice relaxation (SLR) of 0.5% Tb3+ in La(C2H5SO4)3x9H2O was investigated at temperatures of 1.6-10 K. Along with slight changes in the spectroscopic splitting factor and the rate of the direct process of SLR, an anomalous behaviour of the initial splitting and a considerable decrease in the SLR rate on crystal compression were found
