Description
The phonon dispersion relation for the substitutional alloy Cr70Fe30 has been measured using neutron inelastic scattering and the results have been fitted to a 6 neighbour Born-von Karman (longitudinal and transverse springs) model. A calculated phonon density of states is presented. No evidence was found for a strong magnetic influence on the phonon energies. (author)
