Description

Nuclear inertia for the irrotational flow motion of a nonviscous incompressible nuclear matter during the fission process in a wide range of mass asymmetry are calculated within the Werner-Wheeler approximation in the parametrization of two intersected spheres smoothly joined by a circular torus segment surface. The nuclear shape is determined by three independent degrees of freedom : separation distance between the centers of the two spheres, neck curvature and mass asymmetry parameter. Numerical examples for 24Ne radioactivity of 232U illustrate the results.(authors)
