Bubble size in surface boiling with forced convection
Creators
Description
Mechanisms of heat supply and removal were analyzed to obtain formula for calculating maximal bubble diameter for ''growth-condensation'' cycle in surface boiling with forced convection. Effect of some conditional parameters on the maximal bubble diameter was analyzed. Pressure (0.147-17.7 MPa), rate (0.2-9.15 m/s), subcooling (3-62 K), heat flux density (0.38-8.53 MW/m2) configuration and geometrical sizes of the channel were considered. It was shown that change of heat flux density on channel wall affects slightly the diameter. Bubble size reduces at 0.1-2 MPa especially with pressure increase correlation of calculation results with experimental data shows a good agreement
