Description
The diagnosis is discussed of spinal stenosis using computerized tomography. It is pointed out that in routine practice of larger hospitals, CT ranks second among diagnostic methods, immediately after conventional x-ray images of the spine in classical projections. Its benefits include the noninvasive character, the absence of distortion in imaging, high specificity and sensitivity of examination. Myeloradiculography is indicated in cases of umbiguous findings or of discrepancies between a CT picture and the clinical picture of the lesion. The belief is expressed that CT will in the near future be indicated more often in spinal stenosis cases. (L.O.). 8 figs., 11 refs
