Study of butoxyaerosil stability to γ-radiation

Description
Change of butoxyaerosil IR and PMR spectra in the process of its γ-irradiation by 60Co source is investigated. Stability limit to radiation dose of chemical bonds between silica matrix and grafted organic layer is determined. Gas-chromatographic analysis of grafted layer hydrolysis products after irradiation is carried out. It is shown that scission of chemisorption bonds is the main butoxyaerosil radiolysis mechanism at low radiation doses. With further increase of radiation dose radiolysis of n-butanol takes place
