Reactions in the MBF4-MOH mixtures (M=K, Na)

Description
Reaction in potassium and sodium tetrafluoroborate mixtures with their hydroxides under 1:1-1:6 component molar ratio respectively are studied by means of complex and quantitative thermal and x ray phase analyses methods. It is ascertained that oxifluoroborates, meta- and orthoborates of an alkali metal are sequentially formed at the intermediate stages of the interaction in question. Besides, hydroxoborate complex production takes place under certain conditions. M3B3O3F6 formation heats are estimated (M=K, Na). 22 refs.; 3 figs
