Description
We describe a study of the color-dielectric parameter ε in (2+1)-dimensional QCD, based on the Schwinger-Dyson equations. With the help of the Ward identities in the axial gauge, we conclude that ε(q2) displays a (q2)/sup -1/2/ singularity in the infrared limit. This behavior yields confinement of color charges via constant chromoelectric fields at large distances
