Determination of Au, Ir, Os, Pd, Pt, Ru in high-purity metals by neutron activation

Description
This determination was achieved by thermal neutron activation, chemical separations and radioactivity measurements by γ spectrometry. In order to develop chemical separations, some studies on the distillation and ion exchange of platinum group elements were perfomed. The fixation of these elements on an anion exchange resin in a nitrite medium was studied more particularly. This method enables a fully quantitative fixation. The detection limits in these irradiation conditions ranges from 10-12 g for Ir to 10-8 g for Pd
Abstract (French)
Ce dosage est realise par activation par les neutrons thermiques, separations chimiques et mesure de la radioactivite par spectrometrie gamma. Pour mettre au point les separations chimiques un certain nombre d'etudes sur la distillation et l'echange d'ions des elements de la mine du platine ont ete realisees. L'etude la plus importante porte sur la fixation de ces elements sur une resine echangeuse d'anions en milieu nitrite. Il a ete ainsi possible de realiser une fixation quantitative. Les limites de detection atteintes dans ces conditions d'irradiation varient entre 10-12 g pour l'iridium a 10-8 g pour le palladiumAdditional details
