Design of the TFTR Zr/Al surface pumping panels
Description
The Surface Pumping System being designed under the TFTR Flexibility Modification (TFM) program incorporates Zr/Al panels which act as the active gettering devices. This paper describes the requirements imposed on these panels, and the design features which satisfy them. Detailed discussions of the design, including drawings of the major features, follow. The design approach and geometric constraints are presented first, followed by descriptions of the major components and general arrangement
