Models of electrode processes in solvent mixtures

  • 1. Sao Paulo Univ., Ribeirao Preto, SP (Brazil). Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciencias e Letras

Description

This article describes the models of electrode processes proposed to explain the dependence of the charge transfer rate constant on the mixed solvent composition in hydro-organic mixtures, where the organic solvent is less or more basic than water. Some examples as Zn(II) sup(13) and Eu(III) sup(14) reduction in mixtures with water and acetone, Cd(II) reduction in mixtures with water and aliphatic alcohols and Zn(II) sup(3) and Mn(II) sup(6) reduction in mixtures with water and acetonitrile are presented.
