Description
In the dipolar, non-relativistic approximation the matrix element for two-photon transitions between arbitrary states may be expressed as a sum of two terms-each involving only one hypergeometric Gauss function. Explicit examples are given for the 1s - ns and 1s - nd two-photon transitions. (author)
