On the high-energy behaviour of total cross-sections of hadron interaction
Description
High-energy data on the total cross sections of the hadron interaction are analyzed in the framework of the model permitting the Fruassar saturation, and also of the geometric scaling model. The results of the analysis in terms of dynamic symmetries show that principal dynamic assumptions of the complex quark model seem to prove to be correct with an increase in energy. As for the connections of these symmetries with the pole exchange mechanism, they may concern only the differencies in total cross sections in which the contributions of asymptotic terms are negligible. The total cross sections are analyzed by means of parametrization sigma=sigmasub(R)+Cln2(p/p0), where sigmasub(R) is the contribution of the Regge poles, and the second term is the parametrization with the maximum permissible o-rowth of cross section in accordance with the Fruassar limitation. A comprehensive analysis shows that present data permit both the universality of the asymptotic growth of total cross section with values of C=0.3-0.4, and the SU(3)-quark ratios between them Csub(π):Csub(k):Csub(p)=1:1:1.5. A possibility of performing the geometric scaling the process of hadron interaction, and also the model in which the slope of the Pomeranchuck trajectory may have the values exceeding unity, are discussed. The difference in predictions of the approaches under consideration is evaluated. It is noticed that present experimental data may satisfy different models which differ essentially in the interaction dynamics. However, the predictions for high energies (of the order of 103 GeV) significantly differ one from another
