Investigation of peculiarities and estimation of potentialities of granulated titanium alloys
Description
The features and properties of the titanium-based granulated alloys are studied. The possible use of the granules as a strongly hardened material has been estimated. Besides, there have been investigated the structure and properties of the bars made from granules. Annealing of granulated non-heat-treated pseudo α-alloy VT18 and (α+β)-alloy VT8 at temperatures of 500-600 deg C results in their considerable hardening. At room and higher temperatures the strength characteristics of the bars made of granules are higher by 15-20% than the strength characteristics of the bars moulded from the ingots
