Description
The energy density of the chromoelectric field generated by the static qq-bar pair is computed in the SU(2) lattice gauge theory. The energy density in the central region of the Wilson loop shows significant deviations from the Coulomb behavior and approaches a constant value at R/sub q//sub q-bar/ = 0.8--1.1 fm
