Description

In the Dutch Long Term Agreements on energy efficiency (MJA3 and MEE)the Dutch government and industry agreed to strive for a 30% energy efficiency improvement in 2020 compared to 2005. To reach more than 30%, it is not enough to optimize; instead larger process changes will be needed. An important instrument is the realization of preliminary studies and roadmaps, which are supported by the government. This memo offers an overview of relevant developments and scenarios from Agricultural, climate and environmental policy and energy prices for the Dutch sugar industry. This memo serves as input for the Preliminary study Roadmap SuikerUnie.

Abstract (Dutch)

In de meerjarenafspraken energie-efficiency (MJA3 en MEE) hebben de Nederlandse overheid en het bedrijfsleven afgesproken te streven naar 30% energie-efficiency verbetering in 2020 ten opzichte van 2005. Om verder te gaan dan 30% is optimalisatie niet voldoende en zullen grotere proceswijzigingen plaats moeten vinden. Een belangrijk hulpmiddel hierbij is de realisatie van voorstudies en routekaarten, welke worden ondersteund door de overheid. In deze notitie is een overzicht gegeven van relevante ontwikkelingen en scenario's vanuit landbouw-, klimaat- en milieubeleid en energieprijzen voor de Nederlandse suikerproducerende industrie. Deze notitie dient daarbij als input voor de Voorstudie Routekaart SuikerUnie.
