Study of lanthanum and yttrium iop discharge mechanism on solid cathode in molten chlorides
- 1. Leningradskij Politekhnicheskij Inst. (USSR)
Description
Mechanism of La3+ and Y3+ ion discharge is investigated on solid cathode in KCl-NaCl molten chlorides. The experiments are conducted in the hermetic three-electrode cell in the argon atmosphere at the temperature of 1023. La and Y front electrodes are used as working. The fundamental potentiostatic method has been used to calculate the kinetic parameters of the process. On the whole the kinetic constants of electrode process are sufficiently high, that permits to consider these reactions as quasi-reversible
