Description
We present a calculation of the Stark effect experienced by a hydrogen atom placed in a uniform magnetic field. It is suggested that this example may serve as a further application in quantum mechanics courses which demonstrates the simplification of Rayleigh-Schroedinger perturbation theory by introducing the ''F-operator'' technique
