Status of the measurement of the W mass using W → eν data from the collider detector at Fermilab
Creators
Description
The mass of the Q boson is one of the fundamental parameters of the standard model of particles and interactions. A precise measurement of the W mass would constrain the masses of the top quark and the Higgs boson and may indicate the presence of physics beyond the scope of the standard model. The bar pp collisions produced at Fermilab provide a large sample of W bosons. The dataset acquired since August 1992 with the Collider Detector at Fermilab already exceeds that of its previous run, which ended in 1989. The authors will present the status of the W mass analysis for decays of the W boson to an electron and neutrino
