Thermoelectric power and electron structure paameters of CeNi2-xSi2+x crystals

Description

Consideration is given to results of investigation into structure, differential thermoelectric power and effective valence of cerium ions in alloys of Ce–Ni–Si system, based on isoconcentration of 0.2 at.% Ce with 0.35–0.44 at.% Ni and 0.45–0.36 at.% Si. It is shown that CeNi₂₋ₓSi₂₊ₓ represents the compound of variable composition. Effect of Ni→Si substitution is manifested in the form of loosening of crystal lattice and decrease of cerium effective valence. The conducted calculations show, that rearrangement of electron structure of CeNi₂₋ₓSi₂₊ₓ compound in the form of reduction of f-resonance width and its extension to Fermi level, took place at that
