Electricity generation costs in new base load power plants in Poland to be introduced in 2010

  • 1. Politechnika Warszawska, Warsaw (Poland)

Description

A review of new constructions of power plants is presented and basic technical data are given for 4 different power plants (hard coal fired, brown coal fired, natural gas fired combined cycle and nuclear) which were chosen for cost estimation of electric energy production. Then the following information is also given for 4 chosen power plants: duration of construction, capital costs, fixed charges of electric energy generation cost, operational and maintenance costs as well as fuel costs. The calculated costs of electric energy production for various types of power plants are presented in the tables. These costs were calculated for discount rates equal to 5% or 10%. The results of analysis of the sensibility of capital costs and fuel prices performed with changes of these parameters within the range of ±20% are also shown
