Preparation of pure 233U from aged MnO2 precipitate containing 233Pa and irradiated ThO2

Description
A procedure for purification of 233U obtained from old MnO2 precipitate containing 233pa and irradiated ThO2 is described. Anion exchange and DMHMP solvent extraction are used for this purpose. The purity of 233U is checked by liquid scintillation counting and radioisotope X ray fluorescence analysis. A method for the preparation of standard α source is also given
