Acoustic emission during fatigue crack propagation in high pressure vessels
- 1. Tsentral'nyj Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Inst. Tekhnologii i Mashinostroeniya, Moscow (USSR)
Description
Presented are the investigation results of fatigue crack propagation in high pressure vessels made of the 12Kh1MF steel by the acoustic emission method. It is shown that according to signals it is possible to judge about the presence of developing defect and about its configuration and stages of propagation as well. It is found out that the fatigue crack increases at definite loads in the cycle, the loads can be less than the maximum ones
