Method and equipment to produce the isotope iodine 123
Description
The isotope iodine 123 is obtained via the reaction 124 Te (p,2n)I 123 where the proton flow has an energy of 26 MeV. The target is enriched to 96% with Te 124. The target carrier is water cooled. The extraction of the iodine 123 is done by dry distillation at temperatures >= 7300C. The yield is 9 mci/μA/h. The target is present as tellurium dioxide glass target. (DG)

Das Jod-123-Isotop wird ueber die Reaktion 124-Te(p,2n)J-123 gewonnen, wobei der Protonenstrom eine Energie von 26 MeV aufweist. Das Target ist zu 96% mit Te-124 angereichert. Der Targettraeger wird wassergekuehlt. Die Extraktion des Jod-123 erfolgt durch trockene Destillation bei Temperaturen >= 7300C. Die Ausbeute betraegt 9 mci/μA/h. Das Target liegt als Tellurdioxid-Glastarget vor. (DG)Files
