Distribution of elements on lakes sediment of Sunter Jakarta
- 1. National Atomic Energy Agency (Indonesia), Centre for Aplication of Isotopes and Radiation
Description
The investigation of heavy metal pollutants in lake sediment samples has been carried out, and the main attention on toxic heavy metals. The objective of study is to estimate the quality of the heavy metals pollutant and study the characteristic of heavy metals distribution on lake sediment. Sampling was done by Coring method, therefor heavy metals were determined by x-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry (XRFS) using 109Cd and 55Fe excitation sources. The quantity of metals were determined by relative method using Standard References of sediment from IAEA, such as: SL-1, Soil-7, and Soil-3. The result of research showed that there were heavy metals such as K, Ca, Ti, La, Mn, Fe, Co, Cu, Sr, Zn, Pb, Rb, Y, Nb, Mo and almost distributed on the each layer. (authors)
