Description
We have investigated the performance of a 1 m long drift chamber prototype, where the second coordinate was also measured by using the charge division method. Positions were reconstructed with appreciable linearity in both drift and longitudinal directions. Particular attention has been devoted to the study of the position resolution attainable by charge division (3.2 mm fwhm at the centre of the chamber). (orig.)
