Computerized tomography in ceramic components and fiber-reinforced plastics

Description

Some examples are given, primarily relating to ceramic components and fiber-reinforced components, showing the potentials of computerized tomography at its current state of development as a tool for quality control purposes. Components with a complicated structural design can be scanned for internal defects by means of CT with high spatial and density resolution. The different densities of the various materials do not disturb the detection of defects or wall thickness measurement. (orig.)

Abstract (German)

An Hand einiger Beispiele, vornehmlich aus dem Bereich der Keramik- und faserverstaerkten Bauteile, wird gezeigt, welche Moeglichkeiten die Computertomographie bei dem derzeitigen Entwicklungsstand als Mittel der Qualitaetskontrolle bietet. Innenfehler von Bauteilen mit komplizierter Struktur koennen mit hoher oertlicher und auch hoher Dichteaufloesung bestimmt werden. Unterschiedliche Dichten verschiedenster Materialien behindern nicht die Bestimmung von Fehlstellen oder Wanddicken. (orig.)
