Chemical effects induced by gamma-irradiated NaH3(SeO3)2 in aqueous medium
Description
Dissolution of γ-irradiated NaH3(SeO3)2 in the aqueous solution of sodium nitrate results in the reduction of the latter to nitrite. The yield of nitrite was studied as a function of γ-ray dose given to the selenite. The results are discussed assuming formation of the transient anions SeOnΔ3-n and NOmΔ3-m and the chemical reactions of these radical anions in solution. (author) 6 refs.; 1 fig
